It has been decided that the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will begin on February 14, one week later than the date initially designated.

At the recently built BCA stadium in Vadodara, the opening match will start at the Gujarat Giants competing against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the reigning champions of the Indian Premier League.

This encounter will serve as a catalyst for an exciting season packed with exhilarating action and cutting-edge competition.

Tournament Format and Locations

One of the things that will make the 2025 edition of WPL even more remarkable is that it will be held in different cities.

Four intriguing games are set to take place at the venue in Lucknow, which will also be included on the list of host cities.

Finally, the competition will proceed to Mumbai for the last leg, including the critical Eliminator on March 13 and the grand finale on March 15. Both of these events will take place at the renowned CCI stadium.

As part of an effort to broaden the league’s presence, many matches will also be played in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Four of RCB’s games will be played at Chinnaswamy Stadium, a historic venue for the team.

The Uttar Pradesh Warriors, on the other hand, will spend three of their games in Lucknow, their hometown.

It is interesting to note that the Delhi Capitals are the only team in the tournament that will not be playing any home games this season. This will make their journey more difficult throughout the five-team competition.
