Blythe Milburn4 months agoI need some help figuring out my relationship with my best friend. I’m 17 (female), and he’s 16 (male). We’ve been friends for about 6 months now. We met through mutual friends, exchanged numbers, and started talking daily. We talk about everything, from deep subjects to lighthearted stuff. We have some hobbies that don’t align, but we also have a few in common. He lives an hour and a half away, so we don’t see each other often, but when we do, it’s usually once or twice a month. Recently, we went on a trip together with friends. It was a whole week, and it was really fun. He hugged me, bought me snacks, sat next to me most of the time, carried my stuff, and we even got matching heart bracelets. He spent most of the time by my side, but not the entire time—our friends were with us too, and I don’t have many friends, so it was a bit more obvious that we were together. He didn’t touch me that often, but I don’t mind because I know his love language is quality time, while mine is physical touch. I noticed that he made an effort to touch me a little, like giving me a hug, touching my hair, or holding my arm, even though he generally doesn’t touch people, not even his friends. But I’m wondering if this was his way of showing affection or if I’m just imagining it.137
